Wind Turbines Get a Lift

In 2018, NextEra Energy picked Energy Erectors to erect 106 wind turbines and support facilities for the Pratt Wind Farm, in Pratt County, Kan., which can produce approximately 245 megawatts. Energy Erectors put in place 98 Siemens 2.3-MW wind turbine generators (WTGs) with 108-meter diameter rotors and an 80-meter hub height as well as 8 GE 2.3-MW wind turbine generators (WTGs) with 116-meter diameter rotors and an 80-meter hub height. As part of the project, Energy Erectors’ work also included designing foundations, constructing roads and other civil infrastructure, installing an electrical collection system, building a 34.5/345-kV substation and a 345-kV transmission facility approximately 14.5 miles long. Energy Erectors’ crews completed the project in November 2018
